more toys will be produced based on picture books
When I really love a book or a character, then toys based on that character or book appeal to me. That doesn’t mean I end up buying them, but sometimes I do. I have to admit that the cuteness factor matters to me, too–and I love stuffed toys.
According to Cynopsis Kids, it was announced at the American International Toy Fair 2008 that Sidekicks (Yottoy) will be producing some toys for Scholastic’s Clifford The Red Dog (I love the original picture books in that series) and some of David Shannon’s picture books. I hope they do a toy for A Bad Case of Stripes–my absolutely top favorite David Shannon book–or for Good Boy, Fergus!
, my other favorite (and very funny) Shannon book.

There actually was a No, David! doll produced, though it looks like it might not be being made any more. And you’re right, it was ugly-cute.
