Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday

Love comics? Know a kid who does? Want to encourage a kid to read using comics? (And yes, I think that’s a perfectly acceptable way to encourage reading.) Well, get in line for your free comics.

Free Comic Book Day–in North America and some other parts of the world–is this Saturday, May 3. Some of the comics handed out on free comic day are previews (to get you interested in the series), while others are from ongoing popular series. Some comics are clearly for children, while others are for teens or adults, and there’s always that thrill of getting a comic for free. The major comic publishers–Marvel, DC, Image, and Dark Horse–all participate. To get a glimpse of what’s being given out this year, go here.

There’s usually a limit of 2 or 3 per customer, so choose what appeals to you the most.

To find a comic store in your area that is taking part in this event, you can visit www.comicshoplocator.com. Or just drop by your local comic store.
