The Ezra Jack Keats Foundation is reissuing a book teaching children to read
The Ezra Jack Keats Foundation is publishing a new edition of TEACH ANYONE TO READ: THE NO-NONSENSE GUIDE by Dr. Lillie Pope (originally called Guidelines to Teaching Reading). It will be published June 15, 2008, and is the first book published by the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation. They say: “It was chosen because it brings a uniquely effective voice back to the arena of teaching reading, and it advances the cause of universal literacy, a primary part of the foundation’s mission. ”
It sounds like the book has been used successfully for years. It includes instructions and sample materials, and is written in a reassuring and easily understood language. The book may be an important resource for teachers, parents, and anyone teaching children, adults, or ESL students to read.
