Have YA author Justine Larbalestier name a character after you in her next book, or win a copy of a map from Tamora Pierce’s book

Like Justine Larbalestier’s books? You have a chance to have a character in her next book named after you–AND support a good cause. The book will be published in September 2009. Justine is offering this to support the right for gay men and lesbians to marry in California (this right is being threatened). You have until July 15, 2008, to bid.

You can also bid to win a map for Tamora Pierce’s book. Tamora says “The map is of the royal palace in Rajmuat, the Copper Isles, with key to principal places mentioned in TRICKSTER’S QUEEN. This is not an original in that the black ink parts are xeroxed, but the lettering, walkways (streets), and bodies of water are hand colored. This map does not appear in the book, and the only people who have seen it are my husband, my editor, and my assistants! I also provide the printed-out key.”

There are also some other YA writers who are offering things, such as a short story written for you. This is a unique opportunity–and a great cause.
