Do you have a debut children’s or teen book coming out soon? Get some free promotion.

If you’re a debut author with a children’s or YA book coming out in the near future, you might be able to cash in on some free book promotion.

Alice Pope, editor of the Children’s Writer’s and Illustrator’s Market, is looking for debut children’s/YA authors for the 2010 edition. Pope can only feature 4-5 new authors in the book, but if you’re not picked for the book, you could still get some free book promotion through Pope’s CWIM newsletter and blog throughout the year.

Pope’s set out some criteria/rules. Among them are that some form of the book has to be available in November (I’m assuming November 2008) so it can be read before you’re interviewed, and cover art must be available by January 2009. You must email Pope by August 8.

Check out Pope’s blog post for more information.
