YA book Dead Is the New Black featured in Seventeen magazine

I love it when YA or children’s books get mentioned in mainstream magazines, TV shows, or sites for teens and children–because I think it helps a larger audience discover new books that they might like to read, and it helps promote the book.

Well, that’s just what happened with Marlene Perez’s Dead Is the New Black–it got featured in Seventeen magazine! That seems like a pretty big thing to me. Even I, who doesn’t read magazines, have heard of Seventeen.

Do you know any other teen or children’s magazines that feature children’s/YA books, or mention them? And do you ever pick up a book because you’ve seen it mentioned or discussed in a show, magazine, or website?

Dead Is the New Black is a supernatural mystery about teen psychic Daisy who solves mysteries in her home town, including cheerleader vampires and shape-shifting boyfriends.
