I have a real treat for you. FIVE people will win a copy of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, just by leaving a comment below. If you link to this contest on your blog or site, you’ll get an extra entry. (Tell me you did so in the comments.)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is such a powerful, gripping YA book, it’s one you won’t want to miss.
Scholastic generously donated FIVE copies for this contest–thank you! (UPDATED: Scholastic just let me know they’re sending two more copies (they were sending three before) of The Hunger Games, since the response has been so good. That means that five people will win a copy of this fantastic book, instead of three. Hurray!)
Read my review to find out why I love it so much.
The Rules:
1) Once a month, or when I get to it, I’ll pick a book (or two) to give away to one (or two, or three) lucky reader(s) (you don’t have to have a blog to enter). It may be a book that I’ve purchased new or used, or it may be an ARC or a review copy of a book I’ve recently reviewed, or a book that a publisher sends me. (If you receive an ARC from me, please don’t sell it online after you’ve read it.)
2) How to enter:
Leave a comment on this post with your name (and/or anything else you want to say). In September, the winners will be randomly selected by using the Random Integer Generator. lf you’re the winner, I’ll contact you, and you can email me the address you want the book shipped to. Open to anyone in any country. Giveaway closes September 18 at midnight EST, so please enter before then.
3) If you link to this contest on your blog or site, you’ll get an extra entry. (Tell me you did so in the comments.)
4) If you’re the lucky winner of the book giveaway, I ask that you consider donating a book of your choice (new or used) to your local library or shelter after you’re done with it, or to host your own book giveaway on your site or blog. Or, if you love the book, please talk it up with your friends.
That’s it! Have fun. 🙂 I’ll be holding the drawing on September 19 or a day or two after.
Me, too, please!
I’ve heard such good things about this one! Please enter me in the draw…. thanks!

Awesome! I really want to read this book!
Please enter me.
Stephenie Meyer recommends this book on her website. I read the excerpt and would love to get a copy. I will also link this contest to the Team Georgia website, which is a branch of the Twilight MOMS website. Thanks for the contest!
Ooh I really hope I win! Though there are so many people who have entered that I will be surprised if I get a chance. Still, never hurts to try! I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
I am anxious to read this; please enter me in the drawing!
By your review this sounds like such a great book!
OMG! i have to read this book! Stephen Meyer suggested it. I put your link on my myspace page!
ooh its five people now??!!! how’d you come to get two more copies cheryl?
I have been waiting for this book to come out like crazy! I’m passing the word along!
oh jeez; im so sorry for posting before. i didn’t read the rest of the blog because i thought the number was the only thing changed >< sorry!!!
Moriah, it’s totally okay. I go through all the comments, making a numbered list (and putting people’s name down twice if they had a link to the contest). I’m careful about it, so it’s no problem leaving comments.
And, I got the extra two copies just by telling the woman who works for promotions at Scholastic about how this contest was doing. She suggested adding two more copies herself, which was so kind of her.
Got here from a link on buzzfeed and looks like the odds are still good =)
I don’t know what’s up with my interest in dystopian futures!
ive been hearing so much about this recently…but since seeing stephenie meyer recommend this on her website has made me want to read it that much more!
sorry this is so late, but I posted a blog with the link, and hope that i can still be entered ^_^
Hello. I know this is probably too late, but I would like to enter for the next one if possible I absolutely want to read The Hunger Games. It reminds me so much a a movie I previously saw: Battle Royale.
i read a draft version of the book and i liked it, i mostly just want a new copy to see if the author had changed any thing
This is one of the reasons why i love reading!
I can’t wait for the next book to come out, I’ve heard she’s contracted for 3. But for now I guess I’ll have to settle with rereading this one
I can’t wait for the next book, either, Lizzy. That’s exciting, that she might have been contracted for three! I hope the next is just as powerful and good as this one.
Please enter me in the contest. I’ve been wanting to read this book for a long time. It look so great! I’ll link this contest to my blog tomorrow. Thanks for having this amazing contest!
ohh, please enter me in this contest. I’ve already read this book but my friend is dying to. She’d love it, and would be really happy if i gave her a copy. Thanks!
Can I still be entered? Or did I majorly miss the release date?
I am just sick that I missed your deadline for winning “The Hunger Games.” I’m a teacher with an extensive AR library. I know the kids would love reading this one! I wish I had it on my shelves.
