Funny video promoting a book based on bad reviews
Have you received some bad reviews of your book? Maybe you can do something as creative and funny as this author did.
Brad Meltzer took a bunch of negative reviews of his book and had old people with attitude and children say choice bits of those reviews for the camera. The result is a funny, enjoyable video, and the background music helps keep it upbeat, as does the insults within the reviews, and the armpit farts.
If Meltzer really received that many negative reviews from big-name publications, it’s still impressive that he got notice from them–and somehow he’s spun it into a funny video that will probably go viral, getting his name and book out there. His name is flashed a few times, so people will remember it, and it does make the viewer curious. It seems like an interesting and possibly effective book promotion idea–one I never would have thought of.
Perhaps this underscores the idea that no publicity is bad publicity–that even a negative review can help.
