Read about authors’ important lessons about writing

Cynthia Leitich Smith, over at Cynsations, has a series of posts by established authors answering her question: “Over the past decade, what are the most important lessons you’ve learned about your craft, the writing/artistic life, and/or publishing, and why?” Cynthia asked the question in celebration of her 10 year anniversary of her site www.cynthialeitichsmith.com.

I enjoyed this quote from Michelle Meadows: “The biggest lesson I’ve learned over the past decade is that I am in charge of my writing. That means that it’s up to me to take my writing seriously and work on my craft.” And the quote Meadows includes from Mary Pickford is inspiring.

I love reading about authors and their craft, especially children’s and YA authors. If you do, too, head on over; there’s lots of interesting information.

Thanks so much for the cheers! I thought Michelle did a great job with the question, and there’s more to come in the series!
