Visually, it looks stunning… But count me as highly skeptical that they could build a decent movie around a 200 word picture book. The bar’s even higher considering that’s possibly my favorite picture book OF ALL TIME. How can it possibly measure up?

Oh, it does look promising! I’m still scared, though.
The Dr. Suess books were decimated onscreen. I think it really takes someone who loves, and respects, the book, to translate it to the big screen. It can’t just be about making money.

Lisa, I know what you mean. It doesn’t make much sense to me, either. I still like the trailer, though.
Ms S, I agree! I think they have to love the book. And yeah–the Seuss movies felt like about making money. I loved the books, but was SO disappointed in the movies.

Many Hollywood movies have been made with less! I agree with everyone though, I’m apprehensive to see what Warner Bros. have done with the script.
Yes, it looks amazing, but it had some enchantingly beautiful illustrations to use as source material.

Looks like fun and heartwarming. I know my 6-year old will just have to see it. I think Hollywood would probably do better interpreting a shorter book with a clear message than longer novels with multiple themes- so much gets lost then.
