Septimus Heap: Magyk to become animated movie
Updated:
Magyk (Septimus Heap, Book 1), the first book in Angie Sage’s middle-grade series, is going to become a live-action movie, with some animated characters such as Stanley the message rat! David Frankel (Marley & Me) will direct it through Warner Bros., Rob Lieber (Neopets) is adapting the story, and Karen Rosenfelt is producing the picture. AND Angie Sage will be the executive producer. How cool is that–to be the author of a book that becomes a movie and to have input into the movie?

We spoke to Angie Sage about this and she assures us that Septimus Heap:Magyk will be a live action movie and not animated. The mistaken news about it being animated seems to stem from the fact that Warner Bros has begun CG work on some of the non-human characters – Stanley the message rat etc. Hope this helps!

Rob, that’s good news! I’ll update that in the post. Live-action is SO much better than animated.

An animated movie wouldn’t be bad if it was anime. Most of you probably don’t know what that is though…XD
Pardon me, I’m an otaku.

Making a movie. They already made a movie about “The Lovely Bones” and “My Sister’s Keeper.” No need to add onto the list.
