Petal in her dragon costume :)

Hallowe’en is a hard time for many ritual abuse survivors–myself included, though it’s getting easier every year.

This year I’m trying to make it even lighter by putting someone I love in a costume. Who is it, you ask? Not me–my little dog Petal! I think she’s so cute in her sparkly dragon costume. (smiling)

Hi Cheryl, I hope you ask Petal’s permission before you dress her up! : )
Did you make the costume? For some reason, I really dislike dressing up – unless it is in the costume of another culture and I can just be myself.

  2. Cheryl Rainfield Says:

Eve, Petal doesn’t mind wearing costumes. She wears clothes all the time because she’s a hairless. I didn’t make the costume, I bought it–and I think Petal looks adorable. :)

I hear you, though, about not liking dressing up. The good thing is that you have a choice now.

What a cutie! My old dog would have eaten the costume by now. :-)

  5. Cheryl Rainfield Says:

Ha, Lisa! (laughing) I think Petal is just so used to clothes. :) I took her to PetSmart today for a pet costume photo and parade, and there were quite a few dogs in costumes. But most of them did seem to be smaller dogs like Petal. :)
