I love that My Little Pony is bringing a lesbian couple onto the show just in time for Pride week!
I love that My Little Pony is bringing a lesbian couple onto the show just in time for Pride week! I think that will help open many young minds, helping them be more accepting and inclusive, maybe see themselves reflected, and help decrease homophobia. Yay! Happy happy Pride! 🌈 🏳️🌈 #lesbian #lgbtqia #lgbtqiapride #lgbtq #mylittlepony #igauthorshare Continue reading

I am super excited for the Feb Uppercase box
I am super excited for the Feb Uppercase box that I got from generous reader and friend Lynn Postlewait. I just started CROWN OF FEATHERS by Nicki Pau Preto and already I’m loving it; just the first few pages tell me that it is beautifully written. And I am extra excited about it because it has a queer romance and racial diversity!
I love YA fantasy, especially with strong girls, and strong queer girls? Even more! Kudos to Uppercase for picking such a great book.
I also loved the quote magnet for CROWN OF FEATHERS, the positive-message postcard by Victor Hugo, and the Raised by Books pencil case from Out of Print. This is my favorite box yet! Everything here is absolutely perfect for me, like it was hand-picked! (beaming)

I know I’m doing something good when I start getting trolls.
I know I’m doing something good when I start getting trolls. A troll posted a rainbow flag beneath a crossed-out sign on my You Don’t Deserve To Be Hurt video on Instagram.
I blocked them (which deleted their comment). It was funny because I didn’t mention #LGBTQ content in that video – although I AM always out/proud
I find it interesting that he left a homophobic comment on that video – reminding survivors and everyone that they don’t deserve to be hurt by anyone. Unless he chose randomly, that means he found something in my message threatening. Avoiding abuse & self-abuse IS political.
Because abuse keeps those with power in power, and keeps those that are oppressed oppressed. Finding ways to escape abuse, including self-abuse that we’ve been taught, is not just healing, it is revolutionary and political.
Keep taking good care of yourself!

Can you tell I love rainbows and butterflies? (Grinning). And books!
Can you tell I love rainbows and butterflies? (Grinning). And books! To me rainbows not only celebrate being queer and our #lgbtqia community, but also make me think of magic and possibilities. Butterflies, especially Monarch butterflies, have always felt to me like a source of magic, strength, and inspiration. And books, of course, are pure magic all on their own. They transport us into worlds and other people’s lives, taking us from the stress in our own, and giving us so much comfort, insight, and healing.
These stained-glass rainbow butterflies fittingly hang in front of my YA and MG fantasy lit bookshelf, with some of my favourite, repeatedly read books. (I have so many more favorites, but I’ve been buying more ebooks lately than hardcopy because they are cheaper. But I hope to get paper copies of my favorites in the near future.) #rainbows #stainedglass #rainbow #LGBTQ #lgbtqiapride #butterflies

I am going to wear these awesome rainbow PJ bottoms as leggings
I am going to wear these awesome rainbow PJ bottoms as leggings because: rainbows! To me they represent both being out and proud as a lesbian, and magical hopeful rainbows. My neighbor and friend Debbie picked them up for me at Winner’s!

If you’re feeling afraid, sad, or overwhelmed since Trump was elected, here are some things you can do to help

Hate Is NEVER Okay. Let’s work towards a kinder, more inclusive world, with diversity of all kinds accepted and appreciated. A world that doesn’t have massacres like Pulse Orlando.
The LGBTQ massacre at Pulse Orlando yesterday by Omar Mateen was horrifying and devastating – and it made it even more clear how important it is still to work against homophobia and hatred, and toward greater compassion for all. How … Continue reading
