Happy Pride Month fellow #LGBTQIA people!

Happy Pride Month fellow #LGBTQIA people! 🌈
Some of you may not know that I have six books published – STAINED; SCARS; HUNTED; PARALLEL VISIONS; DRAGON SPEAKER: THE LAST DRAGON; and SKINWALKERS: WALKING BOTH SIDES. They’re all #YAlit. The first two are YA suspense and all the others are fantasy, including the last two which are hi-lo (high interest, low vocabulary). The ones that have my strongest voice, #LGBTQIA characters, and that deal with trauma and healing are the first four, though I feel like they all have small pieces of my soul.

The top books challenged in 2018 were targeted especially for #LGBTQIA content & dealing with painful issues such as teen suicide. (sighing) The top challenged books include GEORGE by Alex Gino (transgender); A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MARLON BUNDO by Jill Twiss (LGBTQIA); THE HATE U GIVE by Angie Thomas (anti-cop, profanity, drug use – but I think the real reason is racism); THIRTEEN REASONS WHY by Jay Asher (teen suicide), THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY OF A PART-TIME INDIAN by Sherman Alexie; DRAMA by Raina Telgemeir (LGBTQIA); THIS DAY IN JUNE by Gayle E Pitman (LGBTQIA); TWO BOYS KISSING by David Levithan (LGBTQIA). As always – don’t like a book? Don’t read it. But don’t prevent others who may need it, who might heal from it, from reading it.
