From Cristina Elizondo: “Cheryl Rainfield. A wonderful friend and a great writer. I have these two books and they are awesome. It’s hard to get the book called SCARS but I moved mountains and the sea and whatever else I had to move to get the book and I got it !!!!! I’m so happy. From a scale 1 to 10, I recommend her books 125 !!! Keep writing girl and once you do, I’ll but that book too. I appreciate this curated list

I appreciate this curated list author @gdcribbs created of YA books that deal with sexual abuse, sexual assault, trafficking, and more. It’s so important to have these books and these discussions, to #BelieveSurvivors and hear them, to help each other heal. And I am so glad to have my books included in this powerful list. #MeToo

I just had an awesome Skype talk about SCARS with Dee Schmidt Kramer’s students who read SCARS

I just had an awesome Skype talk about SCARS with Dee Schmidt Kramer’s students who read SCARS as an independent reading book at Silver Creek High School in Indiana. The students asked such intelligent, thoughtful questions afterwards. I told them they could ask me anything and I meant it.

And despite some technical difficulties – I couldn’t see or hear them on Skype but they could see and hear me – it went really well. Dee helped solve it in a creative way, using her cell so I could see the students, typing their questions in Skype, and one student turned Dee’s cell to landscape mode so I could see them all.

I enjoyed it so much. I could see them taking it all in, and caring about it. I delight in readers caring about books – and authors!

Petal also made an appearance! (laughing) She’s always by my side, and at the end when I picked her up and she rested her head on my shoulder they awwed. (Smiling)

I am looking forward to reading WHAT IF? by Anna Russell about a boy with OCD

I am looking forward to reading WHAT IF? by Anna Russell about a boy with OCD, written in a poetry style. I so appreciate seeing books with characters who deal with mental health issues. It is published by @west44books and the hardcover looks beautiful, and has a pleasing, almost soft feel to the cover.
