February is Library Lovers’ Month! That sounds like an important month to me, to celebrate. Libraries give everyone access to books–to entertainment and joy, information and learning, validation and understanding, insight and escape, and so much more.
Check out Library Lover’s Month blog, which has great kids’ books and ideas; Library Lovers’ Month @ Your Library which has fantastic fun ideas on the right sidebar; or celebrate by taking some books out of your library (or returning them). 🙂 Smile at your librarian. Say hello. Or just take a quiet moment to appreciate your library.
Fun things you can do to celebrate: Download and print off some mini bookmarks with lovely book-themed sayings for Library Lovers’ Month, and tuck them into a book you return to your library, or that you share with friends; email a Book and Reading ecard to a friend; watch a movie with a librarian or books in it.
You might also want to check out How to Love Your Library. And if you have a blog or a website, you could download one of the banners and link them to http://www.librarysupport.net/librarylovers/.
