It always feels so good to hear from readers that they love my books and want more! (beaming) Thank you Cristina; I so appreciate it!
From Cristina Elizondo: “Cheryl Rainfield. A wonderful friend and a great writer. I have these two books and they are awesome. It’s hard to get the book called SCARS but I moved mountains and the sea and whatever else I had to move to get the book and I got it !!!!! I’m so happy. From a scale 1 to 10, I recommend her books 125 !!! Keep writing girl and once you do, I’ll but that book too. You’re awesome !!!!!” #cherylrainfield #scars #STAINED #selfharm #sexualabuse #trauma #healing #YAlitmentalhealth #YAsaves #YAwriter #LGBTQwriter #booknerd #bookworm #ireadYA #survivor #feminist #YAlit #YAbooks #bookstagram #bookrecs #bookrecommendations Continue reading

It is such a delight when readers let me – and others – know that they love my books! (beaming)
It is such a delight when readers let me – and others – know that they love my books! (beaming) This from reader and poet @jacob.lasher – I remember being so excited for this book to come out! Cheryl Rainfield has influenced me in ways beyond my own imagining. I am grateful people like her exist and I truly hope that my books can have the same impact on others like hers have done to me! @cherylrainfield

I just received my first ever Uppercase box
I just received my first ever Uppercase box (a YA monthly subscription box) that my friend and reader Lynn Postlewait so generously gave me (3 months!) as a gift for Christmas and I’m so excited to dive in! This case includes a signed hardcover copy of THE GILDED WOLVES by Roshani Chokshi who is a NY Times bestselling author, a Gilded Wolves character card, a Harry Potter Quidditch notebook, and a little packet of tea from Wick & Fable. Such delightful but goodies! I love books and bookish stuff.
The hardcover book came packed in a little fabric bag which I so appreciated because I like to keep my books in good shape.
I needed another great ya fantasy to dive into so I’m excited to read this. Yay for YA books and good friends!

I am going to wear these awesome rainbow PJ bottoms as leggings
I am going to wear these awesome rainbow PJ bottoms as leggings because: rainbows! To me they represent both being out and proud as a lesbian, and magical hopeful rainbows. My neighbor and friend Debbie picked them up for me at Winner’s!

Writers! You’ll want to check out this writer’s thesaurus
I love Angela and Becca’s thesauruses for writers; I think they can help writers get unstuck, so I am thrilled I can finally announce that The Emotion Thesaurus Second Editionis coming! It releases February 19th and this new, expanded edition has 55 new entries!
If you’re a writer like me you probably know (and may use) the original Emotion Thesaurus. I do. It’s a great refresher on emotion, and a great jumping off point into writing emotion deeper.
Check out my post at http://www.cherylrainfield.com/blog for more details (especially about the pre- order bonus and free surprise!). #emotionthesaurus

Petal and I were going to go on the Women’s March today
Petal and I were going to go on the Women’s March today but I think it’s just too cold, especially for standing around listening to speeches and then marching. They’re calling for a snowstorm and -19 weather, and when I took Petal out I felt the cold through my jeans even though I’m wearing long underwear underneath (and so is Petal) . Also Petal has a urinary tract infection which were treating but we’ve both beem up a lot of the night, second night in a row.
I am sorry to miss it but I am there in spirit. My sign was going to say: “As a lesbian feminist survivor of incest, rape, and torture I march for an end to violence against women and children, especially, and equality (and compassion) for all.

I appreciate this curated list
I appreciate this curated list author @gdcribbs created of YA books that deal with sexual abuse, sexual assault, trafficking, and more. It’s so important to have these books and these discussions, to #BelieveSurvivors and hear them, to help each other heal. And I am so glad to have my books included in this powerful list. #MeToo
